Being Reminded...

A long time ago, I found this song on a CD and used to teach myself the books of the Bible and the many titles of God. Through learning the words to this song, I came to know God in a COMPLETELY different light. It helped me to realize God is EVERYTHING I need. No matter what I am going through, he can be all the things I need Him to be.

Later on, I was introduced to this song. It is another reminder of the many titles of our God.

Yes, they are long videos, but so worth the time. You will feel God move in your heart in a totally different way.

Thursday 13

13 random thoughts I've had today:

1. Karla (I work with her) is totally nuts. But she brings me cokes and makes me smile. I love it!

2. I went for a run this morning and it was great! However, it felt like work today so, at the time, I thought it sucked.

3. Mmmm...Peanut M&M's make my day.

4. Staff meetings can be dull. However, with the staff I work with, they can also make me laugh. HA!

5. My husband is awesome. I love him mucho!

6. I miss Shelley. She used to work with me at the clinic. But she doesn't anymore and that makes me sad.

7. I heard there was an accident at the intersection outside our office. My first thought: OOOO! Let's take them some business cards from the clinic and see if they want to come for an appointment!

8. I am happy to have the ENTIRE day off tomorrow. No working. Nada.

9. I am done working at the church on Sundays so now I just have to worry about Saturdays. I will miss it, but its a good thing for me.

10. Hulsey made me laugh so hard Coke came out my nose today. But he didn't know. HA!

11. My eyes hurt. But its my own fault. Not enough food, not enough water and too much caffeine today. That would the story of my life!

12. Hartwell makes me smile because if you ask him to pray about something, he'll drop (almost) everything and pray with you right then. That makes it a great place to work!

13. I am blessed. Mucho mucho blessed by so much and so many.

The one with "the routine"

Well, life *should* be settling down a little in the next couple of weeks. Mark is back in the classroom (inservice this week; kiddos start next week)and my hours at the clinic will drop back to part time next week. Our kiddos will be in daycare two and a half days a week while I'm at work. I will be glad to be at home with them a little more but I'm also excited to still be working and excited for them to be in daycare for a little while. Its good for them to socialize and learn to cope with other personalities and other authority figures.

Not much else to report. Life is pretty not exciting these days. Just busy. I'll have some fun pictures to post pretty soon after the kids and I spend some time with my grandpa next week. Other than that, we are getting ourselves back into the school year routine. The summer was fun and good for us, but so is the routine of life during Mark's regular schedule. There is a little bit of comfort in knowing at least a little bit of what each day holds.

On a side note, I went running this morning and was pretty proud of myself--I finished my loop at the driveway and checked my watch and realized I had run what normally takes 25 minutes in 18:39. WAHOO! Time to start adding a little more distance to that loop.

Okay--bad Lani. I am actually at work and should be prepping files. HA!

Just because it makes me laugh:

We love Portlandia!

Yep, its hot outside, but that makes for a fun day in Portland! We met up with Auntie Stace (who knows where all the cool stuff is!) and had a fantabulous time!

Here's me and Stace waiting for the street car that was going to take us from Farmers' Market to a super cool fountain/wading pool in the Pearl District. Not a great picture of me, but oh well!

Tori was a little bit hesitant about the cool fountain and wading pool.

Andrew, on the other hand, was all for it!

After a bit, we managed to get her to at least stand NEAR the water...

She was a little concerned when it started to creep up to her toes...

And with a little coaxing from her brother...

She decided it wasn't so bad.

After some time in the water, we got the kiddos into dry clothes, ate lunch at The Noodle Company and headed home for naps.

Thanks for making the day so fun, Auntie Stace!

*GASP* Lani has ANOTHER day off!

This time, we went to the coast. We haven't been ALL Summer. Isn't that pathetic??? Sheeeeze. But, here we are! We had fun, ate good food, bought yummy treats, played in the sand, walked along the water and came home ready to crash out. Yay!

Bell Ranch!

We didn't camp but we still had fun! The kids played in the dirt and (sort of but not really) swam in the river and we hung out with lots of people! So fun!
